How to Hire a Champion

Let’s face it, we’ve all interviewed “the one” that we think will really get the job done, haven’t we? Only to find that the best (and only) job that person did in the company was selling to you on the first interview. Before you’ve wiped your eyes, you find out that you’ve hired the wrong person. Not only is that person highly disruptive to the organisation, it’s going to cost you a truckload of money to get yourself out of the deal.

By outsourcing your staffing needs, we’ll ensure that you get qualified temporary staff with a win-win attitude to boot:

Are they qualified?

Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance! Verify any information on the CV to make sure that it is 100% accurate. At least you’ll start off on the right foot by knowing that the candidate has integrity. Typically, with outsourced and temporary staff, this screening process is already done so that you get just the right person for the right job.

Are they givers or takers?

If the candidate shows an attitude of wanting to do what’s best for your company first; pay attention because you may have a champion sitting in front of you. If, within the first 10 minutes of the interview, the candidate is asking about salary, benefits, medical aid etc, listen to those warning bells. Employees with a Radio WIIFM mentality (what’s in it for me) seldom have the best interests of the company at heart. Our trained interviewers easily pick out the givers or the takers.

Did They Make An Effort?

If candidates start badly, they’ll probably finish badly. Are their CVs neat and accurate? Are they dressed neatly, well-groomed and well-mannered? The devil’s in the detail – if they’re tardy in the interview, you can be pretty sure that they’ll be tardy in your organisation. Of course, by using an outsourced solution, you’ll get the right people on board … this will save you time and money.

We’re sure that you have more ideas on hiring a champion. Please share them with us and we’ll post the best one’s on our website so that everyone can benefit.

Send your Mind Spark to ideas@staffdynamix.co.za

Until next time … we wish you a productive and profitable month.
